A Message of Gratitude
Dear Friends,
Today, July 1, 2024, marks one year since I left my school-based counseling role to found Eagan Educational Consulting, guiding high school students and their families through the complexities of the college admission process. I'm writing to thank you for your support and enthusiasm for this venture, and to provide an update on what I've built so far, with help from many of you. In the past year I have:
Worked directly with students and families from Florida, Texas, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Louisiana, and beyond;
Helped students complete scores of essay and short-answer drafts, and reviewed more completed Common Apps than I can count;
Created my own business website (and designed and implemented several "back of house" systems) from scratch;
Further developed and refined my services and curriculum, including a comprehensive “College 101” presentation;
Had the honor of being named to Southern Methodist University's Counselor Advisory Board for a two-year term;
Joined the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and attended their Summer Training Institute and 2024 Annual Conference;
Embarked on a solo driving tour of colleges and universities in the southeastern United States, hitting Florida State, SCAD, College of Charleston, University of South Carolina, Elon, Wake Forest, and Clemson;
Visited Fordham, NYU, and Columbia during a stay in New York, and reconnected with my alma mater, Yale, while attending my 20-year college reunion in New Haven;
Celebrated with my students in the class of 2024, who will soon be college freshmen attending a variety of schools throughout the country!
I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for offering support and advice, and for spreading the word about me and my work. Your recommendations have enabled this business to thrive. My early clients in particular deserve a special thanks for the confidence they showed in me. Thank you!
I'm asking you all to keep the word-of-mouth going. The summer is when many students and families, especially seniors, get serious about the college process. The next few months are when I see the majority of my inquiries, so please continue to send folks my way.
You can direct potential new clients to my website, www.eaganconsulting.net; share the flier below, or my website link, on your social media or email channels with a note from yourself; or simply mention me to a friend. You can also follow me on Instagram at @eaganeducation for more updates and content to share.
Please be in touch if I can assist you in any way. I wish you all a joyful and restorative summer.
My sincere thanks,
Eric
